Raccoons have even been known to rip shingles off or tear holes in the roof in search of shelter causing damage that can cost many thousands of dollars to repair.

How to help keep raccoons away. This type of damage is far too common and is a gateway to even more damage including ensuing water and wind damage. Look for torn soffits under eaves broken or chewed eave fascia boards roof shingles torn away near vents or broken attic vents.
